Questions
Where do I find the IMEISV?
On most Android phones it is under Settings → About phone, often shown as “IMEI SV” with just the two-digit software version. Some dialler codes show it directly. iPhones do not show the IMEISV in Settings.
Why does an IMEISV have no check digit?
The IMEISV is what the phone reports to the network, alongside its software version. The network does not need a check digit, so 3GPP replaced it with the 2-digit software version number.
What does the software version number mean?
It identifies the firmware revision the manufacturer set for that software version. The numbering is the manufacturer’s own, so it cannot be mapped to a specific Android or iOS release. The value 99 is reserved by 3GPP for future use.
